ST. CROIX — Dr. Dale Manuel of Frederiksted Healthcare Inc. (F.H.C.) on March 5 was presented with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (E.S.G.R.) Patriot Award, a recently issued release has made known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Manuel was nominated by Kerriise Richards, a sergeant in the Virgin Islands National Guard’s Medical Detachment, who said she nominated Dr. Manuel because of the support he has shown for her military service. She said Dr. Manuel recognizes her work, keeps in touch with her family, and supports the Guard and Reserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am truly honored and surprised, I am humbled by this award,\u201d Dr. Manuel said. \u201cMs. Richards is a wonderful employee and we are happy to have her.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Manuel works at F.H.C.’s Dental East Office, according to the release. F.H.C. is a community-based nonprofit primary health care center committed to serving the primary health care needs of residents and visitors. \u201cI am just proud that she wants to be a part of our (FHC’s) community service ,\u201d the doctor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe appreciate what she does in the National Guard, and for us as a community,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Manuel’s support of Sgt. Richards\u2019s military service was appreciated by Paul Radix, Virgin Islands E.S.G.R. employer outreach coordinator. \u201cOn behalf of the Department of Defense, we thank you for the support you give, because reservists servicemembers need to have that support from their civilian employers,\u201d Mr. Radix said. \u201cIt is very, very important that they receive that support.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
