Governor Albert Bryan on Tuesday announced the appointment of Jessica Gallivan, above, to serve in the Family Court on St. Croix, an appointment that brings to an end the six-year term of Judge Denise Hinds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The governor reappointed Judges Debra Watlington, Douglas Brady and Kathleen Mackay to the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, Government House said. The Consortium learned of the new appointments over the weekend. Judge Brady serves on St. Croix, while Judges Watlington and Mackay serves in St. Thomas.

Judge Hinds’s term ended in November, as noted<\/span><\/a> by The Consortium in a previous article.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cI am proud to offer the nominations of these Virgin Islanders to the Superior Court. They each bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the bench, and I am confident they will continue their outstanding service to the people of the Virgin Islands and ensure the fair application of justice in our territory,\u201d Mr. Bryan said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If confirmed by the Legislature, Mr. Bryan\u2019s judicial nominees will each serve a six-year term on the bench. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon confirmation, Judges Brady, Mackay and Watlington will return to the bench at the Superior Court for a second six-year term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judges Brady, Mackay and Watlington were all confirmed by the Legislature on November 19, 2012, and their term expired on November 19, 2018. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
