THOMAS &#8212; Jeffrey Cole, 57, of St. Thomas, pleaded guilty in District Court before Judge Curtis V. Gomez, to failing to register as a sex offender, United States Attorney Gretchen C.F. Shappert has announced. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to court records, Mr. Cole was convicted for voyeurism in the State of Ohio in 2009. He moved to the State of Georgia where he registered as a sex offender. Mr. Cole relocated to the Virgin Islands in 2018, and failed to register as required by law. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under federal law, Mr. Cole faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This case was investigated by the United States Marshal Service. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Everard E. Potter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ST.
