ST. CROIX — The St. Croix Environmental Association is partnering with the St. George Village Botanical Gardens to host the 26th Annual EcoFair on Wednesday. The annual event brings 3rd through 6th graders to the Botanical Gardens for a day of environmental fun and learning through hands-on activities, interactive music, demonstrations, art and games, according to a release issued Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students will engage with St. Croix\u2019s environmental and marine organizations through interactive displays and games on conservation, restoration, and preservation, the release said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The purpose of EcoFair is to teach students to better understand and appreciate their surroundings, wildlife and environmental science. From plant science to invasive species, through origami and team races, students will be engaged throughout the day with some of the people who keep St Croix beautiful and productive.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participating agencies and presenters include the US Fish and Wildlife Service; The Nature Conservancy, UVI – Virgin Islands Marine Advisory Service; UVI – Cooperative Extension Service;\u00a0 Clean Up St. Croix\/Coralfire Entertainment; The Trust for VI Lands, AyAy Ecotours, SEA, St. George Village Botanical Gardens, National Park Service, CORE (Caribbean Oceanic Restoration and Education Foundation), VI Waste Management Authority; several divisions of DPNR including the Division of Fish and Wildlife and the East End Marine Park; Leatherback Brewing; St Croix Children\u2019s Museum; and musicians Gyasi Clarke and Sneferu Hotep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
