ST. THOMAS — A man was found lying injured on public road in Coki Point in the wee hours of Sunday morning, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to police, at approximately 12:25 a.m., officers stationed at the Mariel C. Newton Command responded to reports of an unknown individual lying on the public roadway in the area of Coki Point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon officers\u2019 arrival, they observed a black unknown male who had sustained a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen. The victim was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment, where he was in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident is under investigation by the V.I.P.D.’s Criminal Investigation Bureau. <\/p>\n\n\n
