A St. Croix man who swapped four new tires and rims from a Government vehicle and replaced them with old ones from his vehicle, was arrested and charged with grand larceny and possession of stolen property, after police said he admitted to stealing the tires while working as a security guard at the Government Employees Retirement System complex.<\/p>\n
The report, filed by V.I. Police Officer Michael Jules, reveals that Andrew Miller of Estate Peter’s Rest was arrested at his home after officers were called to the Casino Control Commission office in Golden Rock on Wednesday, and notified of the theft.<\/p>\n
One of the employees told Jules that he parked the government vehicle in the parking lot last week with brand new rims and tires, however when he returned to the vehicle on Wednesday, the employee said that the vehicle’s tires were replaced with used ones and dirty rims. The tires were also deflated.<\/p>\n
When Officer Jules arrived at the suspect’s house, the suspect immediately confessed that he had stolen the tires and rims, but intended to return them. Andrew Miller was immediately arrested with bail set at $35,000.<\/p>\n
