The V.I.P.D. has recovered the stolen vehicle of Senator Diane Capehart after it was carjacked from her on Monday, V.I. Police spokeswoman Melody Rames made known on Friday, however she said information about where the vehicle was found would remain classified.<\/p>\n
Recovered on Thursday, the 2013 Jeep Wrangler was found intact and without any damage.<\/p>\n
“Police investigators are still currently investigating the mater, so that is all I will say on that,” Rames said. “Thy are going to process it for evidence that will hopefully help the case.”<\/p>\n
According to preliminary reports, Capehart and a companion were carjacked at gunpoint Monday night on the Melvin Evans Highway while putting up campaign signs in the Hannah’s Rest area for the November 4th General Election. They were approached by two armed men who demanded their belongings, however after handing over their cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects made away in Capehart\u2019s navy blue 2013 Jeep Wrangler.<\/p>\n
