All St. Croix Nat’l Parks Under Gonzalo Tropical Storm Advisory

Christiansted National Historic Site, Buck Island Reef National Monument, as well as Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve are under a Tropical Storm Warning for tropical storm Gonzalo, according to a release issued Monday morning by the National Park Service.gonzalorealtime

Closures and Restrictions

Christiansted National Historic Site is closed to the public until further notice. Travel is not advised to Buck Island Reef National Monument until Gonzalo and its associated precipitation and winds have cleared the area, reportedly on Wed., Oct. 15. Remote areas of the Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve, and the Visitor Contact Station should remain clear of recreational activities until Oct. 15.

All park areas will reopen and recreational activities will resume once Gonzalo has cleared the Territory.
