The Alexander Henderson Elementary School on St. Croix was broken into and vandalized last night or early this morning, an incident that has affected 10 classrooms, Dept. of Education spokesperson Anata Pancham has revealed.

According to Pancham, acting St. Croix Superintendent Janine Schuster and other district staff are on site and working to assess the damages. Parents are being asked to pick up their children as soon as possible.

The VI Consortium will update this story as more information becomes available.
