Kenneth Mapp isn’t your typical candidate. The well-accomplished St. Croix native has multiple high-profile jobs under his belt, the height of which was Lieutenant Governor in the Schneider-Mapp administration.
However, that relationship didn’t last very long, as the two men had irreconcilable differences, which led to their separation after Schneider’s first term.
Now, Mapp is gunning for the highest seat of the land–Governor of the United States Virgin Islands. Ask him any question and he’ll have an answer for it. Throw your best stone at him and he’ll use it to build a house. In fact, Mapp has seemingly weathered many storms that have come his way, even a defeat in a runoff election with sitting Governor John P. de Jongh, Jr.
“I have been to this church before,” Mapp said, speaking of high-stakes, too-close-to-elections. Only this time, he intends to win.
