On Thursday at around 8:20 p.m., 911 emergency received a call of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on the North Side Road near the Agape Faith Medical Center on St. Croix, VIPD public information officer, Kevin Jackson has announced.
VIPD officers dispatched to the scene found a Hispanic male laying in the road who appeared to be in critical condition. The injured man was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center by ambulance, where he later died of his injuries.
According to a preliminary investigation into the accident, a male motorist was traveling north to south on the North Side near Agape Faith Medical Center when the pedestrian, walking on the roadway, was struck by the man’s vehicle.
The incident continues to be investigated by officers with the Traffic Investigation Bureau.
