St. Croix Man Shot Dead In Estate Grove Place

Breaking News / Featured / News / Virgin Islands / February 9, 2015

A man identified as  37-year-old Mustafa Williams was shot dead Monday, at about 11:46 a.m., in Estate Grove Place, in the vicinity of the Eulalie Rivera Elementary School, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has announced.

According to Jackson, 911 dispatchers received a call of shots being fired near the elementary school and proceeded to dispatch police officers to the scene.

When the officers arrived, however, they met an unresponsive black male laying in the vicinity of #15C Grove Place. Emergency Medical Services were called to the scene, but found no vital signs on the victim.

Williams was shot multiple times, and according to sources, the weapons used released shots at a rapid rate, akin to an AK 47.

Police have not identified any suspects; however, detectives with the Major Crimes Division continue to investigate the incident.

This is the second shooting death on St. Croix this year.

Anyone with information concerning the shooting is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at (340) 642-8449, the Internal Affairs Bureau at (340) 774-2452, 911 or the anonymous tips service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
