Jama Rhymer, 24, of St. Thomas, died at the scene of a vehicular accident that occurred early Sunday morning, leaving his female passenger, age 22, in critical condition, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced.

According to Jackson, at 4:20 a.m. on Feb. 22 the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of an auto collision that occurred on Veterans Drive in the area of the Pump House bar and restaurant, involving a 2001 Toyota Echo and a 2000 Chevy s10 pickup truck.

Rhymer, who was driving the Toyota Echo, was heading east on Veterans Drive with a female occupant in the front passenger seat. The Chevy s10 truck was headed westward and being operated by a 22-year-old male, with a 39-year-old male in the front passenger seat.

According to the preliminary investigation and reconstruction of the accident, the Echo veered into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the truck. I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest.
