ST. JOHN — Lieutenant Governor Osbert Potter will be in St. John tomorrow to address real property owners at a town hall meeting which will be held at the Legislature Chambers and runs from 6:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m.
At the meeting, the lieutenant governor will speak on the following topics:
- Tax Credits & Exemptions
- Tax Rates
- The Appeals Process
- Value of Property
In February, Potter encouraged property owners on the island delinquent on their real estate payments to meet with a representative of the Division of Tax Collection at the Tax Assessors Office by March 4, to apply for an installment payment agreement with the Government of the Virgin Islands.
The lieutenant governor also reminded real property owners who previously entered into an installment agreement but defaulted, to visit the office to re-establish a payment arrangement.
Potter pointed out that the establishment or re-establishment of an installment agreement will stop all accruing interest and penalties on delinquent accounts.
