ST. THOMAS — Sikizi Casimir, age 24 of Bovoni was arrested on Saturday and charged with assault in the third degree for stabbing another woman in the neck and shoulder, VIPD Public Information Office Kevin Jackson has announced.
According to Jackson, at approximately 3:46 a.m., units from the Mariel C. Newton Command responded to the call of a stabbing incident in Bovoni. Upon arrival on the scene, police officers made contact with the victim, who stated that she had been in a physical altercation with someone named Sikizi Casimir.
The victim stated that during the altercation, Casimir had struck her with something sharp to her head; and that after they were separated, she felt blood running down her face.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had sustained a swollen left eye and stab wounds to her neck and shoulder.
Bail for Casimir was set at $75,000 and unable to post the required amount, she was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending her Advise of Rights hearing.
