ST. CROIX — Police in St. Croix arrested a Sion Farm man and charged him with reckless endangerment in the first degree for carelessly firing shots into the air in the vicinity of Miracle Mile in Golden Rock while driving in a car with some friends, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has announced.
According to Jackson, on Saturday morning at approximately 4:09 a.m., officers were on patrol in the vicinity of Miracle Mile in Golden Rock when they heard three shots discharged from a vehicle that was ahead of them on the roadway.
The officers advised the 911 emergency call center of the situation via radio, and followed the vehicle until it stopped along the road near the Five Corners Intersection in the Princess Area.
Officers then observed one of the occupants of the vehicle — a green 2000 Honda Civic — toss a firearm out of the vehicle in the immediate area. The officers were able to retrieve the firearm and the three occupants of the vehicle were then transported to the police station for questioning.
One of the vehicle’s occupants, 24-year-old Robert Kealon of Sion Farm, admitted to having a license for the firearm and discharging the shots from the vehicle.
Bail for Kealon was set at $10,000, however he was unable to pay and was remanded to the Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending an Advise of Rights hearing.
