Dancing Man Stabbed In Leg At Night Club In St. Thomas

News / Virgin Islands / April 30, 2015

ST. THOMAS – A man dancing with a woman in a Charlotte Amalie night club in the early morning hours Wednesday was stabbed in the stomach and leg by an unknown man, according to police.

The man said someone tapped him on the shoulder when he was dancing with the woman and when he turned around he saw a black male brandishing a knife, police said. When the black male swung the knife at him and slashed his shirt and abdomen, the two began to fight, according to Virgin Islands Police Department spokesman Kevin Jackson.

During the fight, the black male swung the knife at the victim again and stabbed him in the leg, Jackson said.

Police responded at 5:45 a.m. to a call from emergency 911 that a man had been stabbed. The man was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center, treated for his injuries and released.

Police continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information about the stabbing is urged to call police at 911 or the anonymous tip service CrimeStopper USVI at 1-(800) 222-8477.
