UVI Celebrating 50 Years of Nursing Education

ST. CROIX – The University of the Virgin Islands is having a major alumni event in partnership with the Bennie and Martha Benjamin Foundation. The nurse alumni, faculty and friends are “Celebrating 50 Years of Nursing Education” from May 15 to 18.

The event will be on St. Thomas May 15 and 16 and on St. Croix May 17 and 18.  There will be beach parties with tramps led by steel pans. There will be a dinner dance on St. Thomas to music focusing on road marches and a special hike through the rain forest on St. Croix.

There will also be a continuing education program presented by Dr. Safiya George that is expected to be of particular interest to nurses. George is an alumna of each campus.

Gov. Kenneth Mapp is hosting  receptions  at Catherineberg on St. Thomas and at Government House on St. Croix to help celebrate the event.
