ST. THOMAS – Eilin Montano, 35, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by an illegal immigrant in U.S. District Court Friday, according to U.S. Attorney Ronald Sharpe.
As part of his plea, Montano admitted that he is in the United States illegally and without status and that on November 17, 2014 he discharged a firearm with an obliterated serial number in a residential neighborhood while involved in a domestic disturbance.
Montano faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for August 30.
