ST. CROIX — Police arrested a 21-year-old man in Christiansted and charged him with possession of an unlicensed firearm after finding a concealed weapon on his person, Kevin Jackson, VIPD’s public information officer has announced.
Jackson said officers were patrolling the Company Street area on foot when they noticed a young man, identified by police as Jahmel K. Galloway, walking near them with something bulging from his waist with the form of a firearm. Upon closer examination, the officers discovered that Galloway was indeed carrying a concealed weapon, and later admitted to police that it was not licensed.
The young man was remanded to the Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending his advise-of-rights hearing after failing to make bail of $25,000.
