The Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) is advising residents to take extra precaution in their whereabouts this weekend, as weather forecast gives a bleak outlook with heavy rainfall and the potential of flooding in guts, small streams and urban areas.
The advisory was issued through a VITEMA press release this afternoon.
According to forecasters, increasing tropical moisture may cause widespread thunderstorms with dangerous lightning later today and into the weekend.
VITEMA is asking residents to monitor various media outlets and the NOAA radio for updated weather reports and for possible flood advisory.
VI Consortium will be giving updates of changing weather conditions throughout the weekend.
