Two Sexual Assault Incidents Under Investigation In St. Thomas

News / Virgin Islands / May 30, 2015

ST. THOMAS — Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau are conducting an inquiry into two reports of sexual assault, according to Kevin Jackson, VIPD’s Public Information Officer.

The first incident involving an adult female was reported to police on Sunday, May 17, 2015. According to the victim, the assault occurred at her residence the week prior and was reported to officers by the victim while they were investigating another matter at the selfsame residence in Hospital Ground.

Jackson said a suspect has been identified.

Elsewhere, on Wednesday at about 4:30 a.m., officers responded to a sexual assault report that occurred in the area of Rosstanenberg. The victim in the incident stated that she’d been assaulted by a male, and displayed visible injuries on her face.

Both incidents are currently under investigation. However, due to the sensitive nature of the separate cases, no further information will be made available so as to not hamper the process, Jackson said.
