St. Croix — Chief District Court Judge Wilma A. Lewis sentenced Luke Lubrin, 46, to four years of probation on Wednesday for manufacturing marijuana, United States Attorney Ronald W. Sharpe announced via press release.
In February, Lubrin pleaded guilty to one count of manufacture of marijuana.
As part of his plea, Lubrin admitted to growing marijuana on his property in Frederiksted. On June 26, 2014, a total of 58 marijuana plants were found on Lubrin’s property by special agents with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
As part of the term of probation, Lubrin was sentenced to serve six months of home confinement and a $1,000 fine.
The case was investigated by DEA and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Rami S. Badawy and Alphonso Andrews.
