ST. CROIX — The Department of Planning and Natural Resources on Friday issued its weekly beach advisory release, making known that all but one of the territory’s beaches was found to be unsafe for fishing and swimming this weekend.
According to DPNR, after performing water quality analysis at the 33 designated beaches throughout the territory during the week of July 13-17, only Frank Bay in St. John was deemed unsafe for swimming and fishing.
All other beaches, DPNR says, met water quality standards. They include:
St. Croix: Stoney Ground, Protestant Cay, Chenay Bay, Buccaneer, Cane Bay, Cramer Park, Rainbow, Shoy’s, New Fort (Ft. Louise Augusta), Pelican Cove (Comorant), Halfpenny, Grapetree Bay, Dorsch, Frederiksted Public Beach, Columbus Landing and Sprat Hall Princess (Condo Row).
St. Thomas: Hull Bay, Brewer’s Bay, Lindquist, Bolongo Bay, Sapphire, Bluebeards, Vessup Bay, Magen’s Bay, Lindbergh Bay, Secret Harbor, Frenchman’s Bay, Coki Point and Water Bay.
St. John: Oppenhiemer, Cruz Bay and Great Cruz Bay.
