The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs announced in a recent press release the recall of over 2 million pounds of Oscar Mayer turkey bacon, produced between May 31, 2015, and August 6, 2015, due to “spoilage-related consumer complaints,” by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
In other words, DLCA says, “the turkey bacon may have spoiled before its “Best When Used By” date and may make consumers susceptible to foodborne illness.”
USDA determined this case as a Class II recall, defined as “a health hazard situation where there is a remote probability of adverse health consequences from the use of the product.”
