(September 30, 2015, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands) The Bureau of Economic Research (BER), Office of the Governor launched a U.S. Virgin Islands 2015 Business Needs Survey on skill, qualification and training needs of local employers.
The survey seeks to investigate the current and future skill needs of enterprises, sectors and occupations. Information is being collected from employers about their hiring needs and potential skill gaps in the labor force. Employers are also ask to report on new or emerging jobs and preparedness of the workforce for these jobs, and document issues which pose a barrier or impediment to their business. The results of the survey will be used to develop skills supply and demand forecast and help develop workforce policies and programs.
Only businesses or establishments that have been selected randomly in this scientific survey will receive a questionnaire. The BER seeks your cooperation in completing the survey questionnaire. The Business Survey is being conducted on-line but hard copies of the survey questionnaire are also available for selected businesses.
