ST. THOMAS – Crew members of the S/V Prowler, a local fishing vessel, suffered injuries in a boat accident after running aground and hitting a reef on Saturday, October 17, on the western coast of this island, VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced this afternoon.
According to Ms. Freeman, seven crew members were rushed to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital to receive medical treatment having sustained various injuries ranging from lacerations, abrasions, a broken leg, minor contusions, and various injuries to the head, neck, and collar bone.
The incident occurred while the crew was returning home from a fishing tournament that took place in Puerto Rico, according to Ms. Sakeeda.
