ST. CROIX — The Virgin Islands Good Food Coalition will host its first Food Learn event in partnership with Ridge to Reef Farm and the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism as part of the Dine VI 10-day event.

Dine VI, the territory’s first ever food festival celebrating St. Croix’s vibrant culinary scene, kicks off with the Food Learn occasion taking place on Wednesday from 12:00 -2:00 p.m. at the Carl & Marie Lawaetz Museum.

Food Learn combines farm tours, food policy conversations and a locally sourced three course meal prepared by Chef Frank Pugliese with youth in 9th -12th grade. Featured farms include the Arthur A. Richards Junior High School Garden, Frank Bermudez Livestock Farm and Tropics Hydroponic Farm.

Limited seating available for community stakeholders at $35 each. Each seat helps sponsor a youth participant, according to a press release issued on Monday.

Following tomorrow’s event, DINE VI kicks activities up a few notches with the Food Truck Festival happening on Friday on the Frederiksted Waterfront. The festival will see performances for mainstays such as Pressure, newcomer and singing sensation Tia, along with other great local talent. For all Dine VI events, go here.
