CHANT And Dine VI To Host ‘Crucian Fusion: Cocktails In The Courtyard’ Mixer

Entertainment / News / Virgin Islands / November 1, 2015

ST. CROIX — Crucian Heritage and Nature Tourism Inc. (CHANT) has partnered with DINE VI to showcase the organization’s “Crucian Fusion: Cocktails in the Courtyard” mixer, a press release issued on Saturday revealed.

The event will serve as a precursor to CHANT’s upcoming Crucian Fusion 2015 week of events scheduled for November 29 – December 5, 2015. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to come out on Tuesday, November 3 for an evening of Crucian-inspired appetizers and cocktails from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. behind Polly’s at the Pier, located on Strand Street in Frederiksted.

Food and beverages will be catered by Chef Digby Stridiron and Polly’s at the Pier. A recommended donation of $10 will go towards CHANT’s fundraising efforts and can be purchased here or paid at the door.

Crucian Fusion serves as CHANT’s major annual fundraiser and the group says it’s pleased to have Chef Digby Stridiron as its returning featured chef. This year’s theme, Guavaberry, the Twelve Nights of Christmas, pays homage to cultural icons, Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights as they celebrate 45 years of quelbe and culture.

The 2015 Crucian Fusion main event will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Whim Plantation Museum in Frederiksted. Culinary arts are one of the areas which CHANT promotes, and Crucian Fusion – Traditional Gone Gourmet, will provide a great platform for chefs, cooks and food enthusiasts to share the richness of traditional Crucian cuisine with the community, according to the release.

In existence for more than eight years, Crucian Heritage and Nature Tourism, Inc. (CHANT) is a Virgin Islands nonprofit and a sponsored project of the St. Croix Foundation, a 501(c)(3), according to the release. Its mission is to promote and develop a wide range of vibrant, high-quality, Crucian heritage and nature tourism products. The group says it works closely with existing heritage and nature providers and help nurture the development of new providers with business counseling and marketing initiatives.
