ST. THOMAS — A man here was shot multiple times on Sunday night at about 8:41 and left for dead near Bargain Grocery (formerly the Lima Grocery Store) and Such Is Life Bar, located on Goat Street in Hospital Ground, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced today.

Outside of the bar, adjacent to the grocery store, a black male was discovered bleeding profusely, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to Mr. Jackson, citing a preliminary report. The victim was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle for treatment of the wounds he sustained. He later succumbed to his injuries, Mr. Jackson added.

The victim was later identified as 24-yer-old Kemoi Thompson of Hospital Ground.

The VIPD is asking anyone with information concerning this homicide is asked to phone the Major Crimes Unit at 340-714-923 extension 5617, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-714-9807 extension 5556, the Office of the Chief of Police at 34-774-2211 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI at 800-222-8477.
