ST. THOMAS — Department of Planning and Natural Resources Commissioner Dawn Henry announced via press release on Wednesday that VITRAN has extended its bus service to include the Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library, located north of the Tutu Park Mall.
“DPNR is truly appreciative of the extension authorized by DPW’s Commissioner Gustav James to accommodate library patrons,” Ms. Henry said. “It is all about accessibility and service to the public.”
The fixed bus route was implemented on Tuesday, November 10th, which extends the current route at the Tutu Park Mall to include service to the library during its hours of operation. Generally, the rural route bus arrives to the Tutu Park Mall at 9:15a.m.; 11:15a.m; 1:15p.m and 3:15p.m.
The public is asked to remain patient as the traffic into the country dictates the actual arrival of the bus to the Tutu Mall area, according to the release.
Contact the VITRAN terminal offices at 774-5678 with any questions or concerns, or the Charles W. Turnbull Regional Library at 774-0630. Information can also be gleaned from Ingrid Bough, territorial director of Libraries, Archives and Museums at 773-5715, or visit the VI Public Library’s website here.
