ST. THOMAS — The V.I. Economic Development Authority (VIEDA), through a press release issued today, announced that a show cause public hearing organized by the Economic Development Commission has been scheduled for Thursday at 9:00 a.m. in the boardroom of VIEDA’s office at 8000 Nisky Shopping Center here, and via video conference feed at the William D. Roebuck Economic Development Park in Frederiksted, St. Croix.

According to the release, Intrepid Investment, LLC and QT Investment Managers, LLLP, both with offices in St. Thomas, have been scheduled for the Show Cause Hearing on their certificate regarding tax exemption benefits. Representatives of these companies will show cause why their tax exemption benefits should not be revoked, suspended, or modified for alleged violations of their Economic Development Commission Certificate (formerly the Industrial Development Commission or IDC).

A description on Intrepid’s “About Us” page says the company “provides a highly customized and personalized approach to investment banking.”

It added: “We do not run cookie cutter processes. Instead, we listen to clients and design processes that will meet their objectives while maximizing certainty of closing. We commit senior banker resources to understanding our client’s business, position it properly and engage with senior executives who make the acquisition decisions.”

As for QT Investment Managers, the company says its mission is to “democratize the process of attaining intellectual property for inventors. We make it simple and inexpensive for creative people to protect and commercialize their creations.”
