ST. CROIX – Computer Science Education Week, December 7 -13, 2015 was observed at Arthur A. Richards Junior High School with teachers committing to using more technology in the classrooms.  As a result, they assigned classroom and homework projects to their students that involved heavy usage of computer technology.

Students soon took advantage of the new information they acquired from teachers during the week to participate in the Hour of Code activity on Friday, December 11th.  Participating students selected a template from a variety of self-guided tutorials to create games and apps all in one hour.  Eighth grader Obasi Flores received prizes for being the first student to complete the Hour of Code computer app.
