ViVid Streaming Announces Progress In Holiday Season Give Back Effort

News / Virgin Islands / January 8, 2016

On the one-year anniversary of ViVid Streaming’s first give back effort with the cleanup of Point Udall, the company, its main product being streaming radio services based in the territory, has shared the progress it’s made with its latest benevolent endeavor through a press release issued on Thursday.

According to the release the joint achievement, which included sponsors such as Neighborhood Pharmacy and Airs R Us, resulted in ViVid Streaming’s biggest effort so far. The idea was to give underprivileged children of the Virgin Islands the best Christmas possible.

Donations were raised from collections by the Sunny Isle intersection, and raffle tickets priced at $4 that were located at Neighborhood Pharmacy and Airs R Us.

Individuals who bought a raffle ticket at the aforementioned businesses qualified to win a trip to San Antonio, Texas to see Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs; a consultation for remodeling a room from Don Geo Design & Management; and a mini split A/C unit from Airs R Us, the release further stated.

One winner, Michael Christian, already received his prize, a trip to Tortola, courtesy of Native Son, to attend the Christmas Races on December 27 where ViVid Streaming and Neighborhood Pharmacy donated an electric wheelchair to a BVI student in need. The student, Joel JnBaptiste, was the proud recipient of the wheelchair originally donated by the Edney family of St. Croix, during the time funds were being raised for Rueben Turner’s electric wheelchair in a prior ViVid Streaming effort. The company thanked Native Son for shipping the wheelchair, Ginny Jacobs of Social Development in the BVI and the BVI Horse Owners Association under the leadership of Karen Aaron.

The winners of the raffle will be announced live on air today at 7:45 a.m. during the MADD House on ViVid Streaming. A check in the amount of $621 will be donated to the Family Resource Center on St. Thomas, along with the Human Services Youth Shelters on St. Croix. Queen Louise Homes for Children on St. Croix received a $621 check, presented by Dr. Kisha Christian of Neighborhood Pharmacy and Paul Martinez of Airs R Us, the release went on.

ViVid Streaming said it has already conducted three give back events with the donation of $800-plus to Coach Sherman Thomas, who was the victim of a hit and run accident on St. Thomas; the immediate clean up Point Udall after individual(s) vandalized the iconic landmark, and the donation of an electric wheelchair to St. Croix resident Rueben Turner, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy.
