ST. CROIX — Innovative is currently accepting applications for its 2015 Albert A. Sheen Scholarships in the amount of two $10,000 awards, and for its $20,000 UVI scholarship, which will be dispersed to four students at $5,000 each, a press release Innovative issued on Wednesday has made known.
The annual tuition-only Albert A. Sheen Scholarships — named in honor of the late attorney, Albert A. Sheen, who served as the legal counsel for the Virgin Islands Telephone Corporation, which is now called Innovative Telephone — are awarded to two Virgin Islands high school seniors who have already been accepted to a college or university to pursue a degree in one of the following fields: Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Engineering or related fields.
Applications are available at the security desks at the Innovative Business Offices in Estate Diamond on St. Croix, Tutu Park on St. Thomas, and Starfish Marketplace on St. John. Applications are also available from guidance counselors at the territory’s high schools. Students may also download applications at the Innovative website here or email an application request to [email protected]. The due date for applications is May 6, and they must be postmarked or delivered to Innovative offices by the aforementioned date.
Innovative Telephone will also award $20,000 to four students- two per district- to receive a $5,000 scholarship to the University of the Virgin Islands. The scholarships will be administered by the university to be used for tuition, books and materials.
High school students who have been admitted to UVI must complete their financial aid application and submit it to the university’s financial aid office to be eligible for the scholarship. Applications are due at UVI by March 1.
