Virgin Islands Film ‘Timeless’ To Make Anticipated Debut On St. Croix In March

The St. Croix premiere of Timeless: A Caribbean Love Story is scheduled for a showing at the Education Complex on March 5th and 6th starting at 7 p.m., (tickets cost $20) after a delay the film’s director and producer attributed to the passing of his mother.

“We had to delay the St. Croix showing because of a number of unexpected situations, including the passing of my mom, Mrs. Wilma Schou La Baorde, who was buried in December on St. Croix, in keeping with her wishes,” Edward La Boarde Jr., who also wrote the film, said.

Timeless had its world premiere at the Reichhold Centre for the Arts last October, an event that was deemed successful in light of its capacity audience, who praised the film following its showing.

Shot entirely on St. Thomas and St. Croix, the movie tells the story of three timeless souls, Malinda, Alphonse, and Bianca. In the film, Alphonse, whose first novel was recently published in New York, came home to St. Thomas at the invitation of Malinda, a senator, to head up a special history project for elementary schools. But Malinda’s interest in him went beyond business and education. And when she learns of his interest in Bianca, an illegal immigrant from the Dominican Republic, Alphonse and Bianca soon find themselves in the struggle of their lives.

That struggle and centuries of others, fill Alphonse’s dreams connecting him to a distant past, thrusting him in a troubled present, and pointing him to an uncertain tomorrow with only a timeless love to lean on.

Timeless stars include Kmisha Victoria Counts, Brummell Germain, Sulay de la Rosa, Kenya Eugene, Monai Greene, Julien K. Baa, Janeisha John, Elaine Jacobs, Bianca Castillo, Shanaka Harris, Margarita Aqustin, Laurel Samuel and Ameriko Cabrera.

“I’m pleased we can finally show Timeless on St. Croix and I invite everyone to come and enjoy it,” Mr. La Boarde said.
