ST. CROIX — Senior District Court Judge Raymond L. Finch sentenced today Lamont Sweeney, 41, and Shawn Webster, 42, each to three years of probation, a fine of $500 and a $100 special monetary assessment, United States Attorney Ronald W. Sharpe announced.
Mr. Sweeney and Mr. Webster pleaded guilty on September 28, 2015.
According to the plea agreement filed with the court, on March 17, 2014, an individual asked Mr. Sweeney to have Mr. Webster pick up a package from the Richmond Post Office. Mr. Sweeney called Webster, who agreed to pick up the package. Both Mr. Sweeney and Mr. Webster knew the package contained 4,980 grams of marijuana.
This case was investigated by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations with the assistance of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. It was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rhonda Williams-Henry
