Dominican Republic Independence Day Parade Happens This Sunday, Parking Restrictions Announced

Community Center / News / Virgin Islands / February 24, 2016

ST. CROIX — The annual Dominican Republic Independence Day Parade takes place on Sunday, and the Virgin Islands Police Department announced on Tuesday parking restrictions for the event. Find them below.

  • Parking is prohibited along the entire Dominican Independence Day Parade route, including the staging area at Basin Triangle.
  • Parking is prohibited on King Street and Hospital Street.

These restrictions will be in place from 4:00 a.m. on Sunday until the completion of the event, according to police. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes as possible while the festivities are ongoing.

Additionally, any vehicle found parked in the restricted area will be ticketed and/or towed at the owner’s expense.

The V.I.P.D. says it apologizes for any inconvenience these restrictions may cause and wishes the community, visitors and Dominican Independence Day Parade participants a safe and enjoyable time.
