ST. THOMAS — The 3,092 passenger cruise ship Emerald Princess will berth at the West Indian Company, Ltd. dock on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, the company has announced.
The ship will arrive at the WICO dock at 7:00 a.m. from St. Maarten and depart at 4:00 p.m. for Grand Turk in the Bahamas.
“Princess Cruises popularized cruising and has remained one of the most recognized names in the industry. Emerald Princess is one of the line’s largest ships,” said WICO President and CEO Joseph B. Boschulte. “We have hosted this ship twice so far this year. I know residents and visitor stakeholders alike will extend a warm Virgin Islands welcome to the passengers and crew.”
Launched in 2006 and refurbished in 2015, Emerald Princess is a relatively new ship. It features 1,539 guest cabins, 19 decks and three main dining rooms in addition to celebrity-themed and specialty restaurants. Night clubs and lounges, guest service spas, fitness centers, theaters and children’s activity centers also are among its modern amenities.
Emerald Princess was repositioned from the Mediterranean to Fort Lauderdale in October 2015 for Caribbean cruises. One-thousand-two-hundred crew members work on board the Grand-class ship.
In addition to Emerald Princess, Disney Fantasy and Carnival Splendor will be in port at the WICO dock on March 30th.
