Seaborne Adds 14 Flights For Carnival And Ironman

News / Virgin Islands / April 8, 2016

ST CROIX — Seaborne Airlines announced on Thursday additional flights added to its schedule in support of the St. Thomas Carnival and St. Croix’s Ironman 70.3 competition. Seaborne says the move is a demonstration of dedication to its role as a good neighbor and partner of the U.S.V.I., with continued support of activities and sponsorship of organizations throughout the territory.

The additional flights will be added to the schedule on May 1st, 2016. All flights will be on the seaplane downtown-to-downtown operation.  The twin otter seaplane operates with two pilots and two engines for your safety.  Fourteen flights are planned for addition to the schedule, a total of 196 extra seats. Additional flights may be added if operations allows and traffic needs surpasses this increase, according to the release.

“Seaborne prides itself on our key role in the Virgin Islands economy. We continue to invest there — in people, in new planes, in our facilities and in our sponsorship of many hundreds of organizations in the territory,” said Seaborne Chief of Staff, Marcy Heistand.

The carrier says high passenger loads are expected between St. Croix and St. Thomas, and although Seaborne says it’s committed to taking care of its customers, passengers’ help is needed to check-in early if possible and no later than 45 minutes before boarding time. Additionally, it is very important to follow the guidelines especially during full flight weekends. Seaborne says the safe transporting of travelers to and from the territory during the festivities and on regular routes remains its top priority.
