Mapp Nominates Luis Ayala, Jr. To Housing Finance Authority Commission

ST. CROIX — Governor Kenneth Mapp has nominated Luis R. Ayala, Jr. for membership on the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority Commission for the district of St. Croix, Government House said in a press release issued on Friday. The term of the appointment is two years once confirmed by the Legislature.

According to the release, Mr. Ayala’s background includes extensive management experience in retail hardware and the construction trades. His aggressive initiatives in retail have resulted in impressive sales growth and employee development. In construction, Mr. Ayala has earned recognition for having led teams on projects requiring the highest standards of performance by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the Virgin Islands Housing Authority. Mr. Ayala is credited with having managed projects within budget and on schedule while compiling excellent safety records, according to the release.

In his letter to Senate President Neville James requesting the advice and consent of the 31st Legislature, Mr. Mapp urged prompt confirmation to enhance the commission’s ability to meet its busy agenda.
