ST. THOMAS — Carnival Magic will call on St. Thomas for the first time on Tuesday, April 26th from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the West Indian Company said on Friday. The ship will berth at W.I.C.O.’s dock.
“The timing of this visit certainly is fortuitous,” said Joseph B. Boschulte, president and CEO of W.I.C.O. “Our community is in the throes of Carnival, a cultural celebration that is fun, lively, festive and inclusive; everything that a Carnival Cruise Line cruise represents.”
In service since 2011, Carnival Magic is the third of Carnival Cruise Line’s Dream-class ships. Dream-class ships offer a limited number of family-sized state rooms; children’s facilities with spacious play areas; a Carnival Waterworks aqua park; a two-level, adults-only retreat, and a wellness area.
Sister ships Carnival Dream and Carnival Breeze have been in service since 2009 and 2012 respectively.
Carnival Magic recently was remastered and came out of dry dock in March 2016. The upgrades to the ship include the addition of the Blue Cantina, Blue Iguana Tequila Bar, Red Frog Rum Bar, relocation of the Pizzeria, relocation of the Deli, the addition of Fat Jimmy’s Bar-B-Que, Alchemy Bar, and Guy’s Burger Joint.
Carnival Magic spent its inaugural season sailing the Mediterranean before homeporting in Galveston, Texas for Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
This month the ship relocated to Port Canaveral, Florida to begin seven-day Caribbean cruises, including three trips to the Southern Caribbean beginning in the summer of 2017.
