ST. CROIX — Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority customers on Church Street, King Street, King’s Wharf and Queen Cross Street will experience an electrical service interruption until 5 p.m. today as crews work to replace an underground power transformer which failed on Tuesday, W.A.P.A. announced today. The failed submersible transformer was determined to be the cause of Tuesday’s service interruption after crews pumped out a flooded manhole in Christiansted town.
In the meantime, on Tuesday night, line crews completed restoration of all small pocket areas that were experiencing either partial power or no electrical service.
