Local Professionals To Share Best Practices At Tourism-Sponsored Events

ST. THOMAS — The Department of Tourism will produce a Customer Service Morale Booster and Professionals Panel today and Friday, featuring leading Virgin Islands professionals from the territory and the U.S. mainland, a press release D.O.T. issued on Wednesday has made known.

To be held at Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort in St. Thomas on Thursday and the VI Cardiac Center at Juan Luis Hospital in St. Croix on Friday, the all-day sessions are tailored for the general public, taxi and tour operators, students as well as managers and supervisors, according to the release.

Featuring customer service expert Lisa Wynn Magnuson, the sessions, which build upon the well-attended customer training seminars last March, bring the curtain down on a wide variety of Tourism Month activities developed to highlight the impact of the visitor sector on St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas.

Also addressing the sessions will be Virgin Islander professionals Dr. Bryan K. Williams, Owner of BW Enterprise; Yvette Thomas-Henry, General Manager of the Four Seasons in Atlanta; Sherwin Robinson, General Manager of The 40/40 Club in New York; and Yolandita Jackson-James, Founder of LaLa Speakx.

“The importance of providing consistently outstanding customer service in the tourism and hospitality sector cannot be overstated,” said D.O.T. Commissioner Beverly Nicholson-Doty. “And this opportunity to share ideas with some of the Virgin Islands’ own acclaimed experts brings a strong, fitting conclusion to Tourism Month.”

To register and for more information, contact the Department of Tourism’s St. Croix office at 340 772-0357 ([email protected]) or the St. Thomas office at 340 774-8784 ([email protected]).
