Allure Of The Seas, Disney Fantasy, Cancel Calls To St. Thomas

Community Center / News / Virgin Islands / October 11, 2016

ST. THOMAS — The Allure of the Seas has cancelled its port of call to St. Thomas set that was for Wednesday, due to the effects of Tropical Storm Nicole, the Virgin Islands Port Authority announced today.

According to V.I.P.A. Executive Director Carlton Dowe, the ship has been rerouted to avoid inclement weather at sea. The Allure of the Seas is an Oasis-class vessel owned and operated by Royal Caribbean International. The ship carries up to 6,296 passengers and 2,394 crew.

Also on Tuesday, the West Indian Company made known that due to the effects from Hurricane Matthew, particularly on Disney’s Private Island, Castaway Cay located in the Bahamas, the Disney Fantasy was forced to shorten its planned Eastern Caribbean cruise this week.

It will now go to the Western Caribbean instead. Future calls are unaffected by this change, WICO said.
