ST. THOMAS — On Thursday, a vehicle crashed into the fencing surrounding the Yacht Haven Grande Shopping Complex, resulting in the driver sustaining injuries, Yacht Haven Grande Marketing Manager L. Vivienne Yaple has announced.
Ms. Yaple said no other occupants were in the vehicle and no bystanders were impacted. As part of facility’s standard protocol, the Yacht Haven Grande security team immediately contacted emergency services and were working in tandem with local authorities to address what was deemed an “isolated incident,” and to ensure the safety of the driver.
At this time, no further details have been confirmed on the cause of the accident, according to the release. Yacht Haven Grande said it had already begun implementing measures to secure the damaged fencing and the site remains secure and open to the public.
