ST. CROIX — A woman and her 4-year-old child were left shaken but unharmed after an unknown assailant entered their home just before midnight Sunday, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has announced.

Mr. Dratte said that at approximately 12:04 a.m. on Monday, V.I.P.D. officers were dispatched to investigate a break-in report, which occurred at the Concordia Manor Apartments in Frederiksted.

The adult victim told police that on Sunday at about 11:50 p.m., she was taking a shower with her 4-year-old child, and that as she looked behind her, she saw a black, male individual looking at her from behind her bedroom wall. The adult victim said she began to scream, and the individual then ran out the apartment, escaping through the sliding glass door on the apartment’s second floor, according to Mr. Dratte.

The adult victim said nothing was stolen from the apartment, nor was anyone hurt during the incident. Investigating officers found the glass and screen doors slightly open.
