Governor Kenneth Mapp met with representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration PR & VI District Office today at Government House in St. Thomas, Government House has announced.
District Director Yvette Collazo from the Puerto Rico office officially introduced the new Senior Area Manager, Mr. C. J. Castro to Mr. Mapp along with Maria De Los Angeles De Jesus, the deputy director.
C. J. Castro has been appointed as the new Senior Area Manager for the St. Thomas/St. John district. He has been with the Small Business Administration since 2015 and has served in various positions at the Kentucky and California Loan Guaranty Processing Centers, according to Government House. Mr. Castro has over 33 years of commercial banking experience and prior to joining the SBA he served as a resolution and receivership specialist with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Mr. Castro’s vast financial background insures that local small businesses will have access to valuable assistance when it comes to education and financial opportunities. Mr. Castro shared, “I am looking forward to continuing efforts to educate local business owners about the opportunities our office offers to help them grow their businesses.”
