ST. THOMAS — The University of the Virgin Islands Student Government Association and its Social and Cultural Committee on Thursday hosted the 2nd Annual UVI Village, in the Sports and Fitness Center front parking lot here.

This year UVI is celebrating its 55th Anniversary as the Virgin Islands commemorates the Centennial of the Virgin Islands being a United States Territory. “We are highlighting this monumental time with explosion of VI culture and customs with a taste of Buccaneer pride,” said Leon Lafond, UVI Student Activities director.

The event opened with a Pride Parade which began at about 1:00 p.m., leading into an opening ceremony at 2:00 p.m. Below, some scenes of the event.
