The St. Croix Track Club (STXTC) Mustangs announced on Sunday that it returned to the territory with five championship medals, earned during the Association for Youth and Child Athletics Track and Field Championship Finals on May 13 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
According to the release, three out of five St. Croix athletes qualified for more than one event based on the two previous qualifying meets, a feat the track club deemed as significant. Club member Mikaela Smith qualified for three events (400m, 800m, 1500m), but had to choose two, according to the release.
